Ariel is alone in the Undersea Garden, crying to herself, when the two devious eels
arrive
Flotsam: My, my, the poor child suffers such deep sorrow.
They swim around her in circles
Jetsam: What a pity. If only there were something we could do...
Flotsam: Wait. Maybe she can be of some help.
Jetsam: Yes. Maybe she can be of some help to you.
Ariel: Who’re you talking about?
They start swimming upwards in a spiral
Flotsam: Oh, she would surely help you.
Jetsam: She’d make all your dreams come true.
Flotsam & Jetsam: Ursula can help...
In a flourish of ink, Ursula appears
Ursula: You called, my dear?
She smiles down at Ariel
Ariel (daunted): You’re Ursula? I was just wondering
if—
Ursula: It’s all right. Helping others is what I live for. Let me
guess. You wish to see other worlds. That shouldn’t be too hard. After all, your new
friends came from another world.
Ariel: What?
The witch swims closer to her
Ursula: But they had special help—that mysterious key.
Ariel looks toward the sea floor
Ursula: Now, now. Cheer up, sweetie. You have something special,
too.
The eels swim around them as Ursula leans in closely
Ursula: Now listen carefully. I think the Keyhole they seek is
somewhere in the palace.
Ariel swims into the palace throne room
Ursula: Now, my dear, if you can take me there without your daddy
knowing...
Ariel turns as Ursula enters behind her
Ursula: I can help you get to these other worlds you long for.
She sees the trident floating behind the throne, and smiles. After Ursula snatches the
trident, she laughs evilly
Ursula: The trident is mine at last! And I couldn’t have done it
without your help, my dear.
Ariel is at the throne beside her father, who looks terribly weak
Ariel: Ursula, no! I didn’t want this!
Ursula: Why not? Aren’t you tired of following your dear daddy’s
orders?
The eels swim around them
Ursula: Oh, yes. We had a deal, didn’t we? Time for a little
journey—to the dark world of the Heartless!
Flotsam: We cannot find the Keyhole.
Jetsam: The Keyhole is not here.
Ursula: What?
She looks behind her as Sora, Donald, and Goofy swim their way
Ursula: Why, we have company. I’m afraid you’re a little late,
handsome!
She chuckles, raising the trident and vanishing in a burst of ink just as they arrive.
Ariel looks to King Triton
Ariel: Daddy!
Triton (feebly): The trident... We must get it
back.
Sora: Come on, let’s go!
They start to swim out, but Ariel stops them
Ariel: Wait, I’m going with you! My father is hurt and it’s all my
fault. I have to stop Ursula!
Sora nods
Sebastian: That’s right. I’m right behind you, Ariel.
